You do not need to fly to Dubai to own property here. We shortlist areas and developers, explain the payment route from India, and manage the paperwork with you, remotely and step by step.

Quick answer
Can an Indian citizen buy property in Dubai? Yes. Indian nationals, whether living in India or abroad, can buy freehold property in Dubai's designated areas and hold the title deed in their own name. You do not need a UAE visa or residency to buy. Residents of India usually send the money through their bank under the Reserve Bank of India's Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), and the purchase can be done remotely with a power of attorney or online signing, depending on the deal.
Tax and remittance rules in India are personal to each buyer, so confirm them with your own adviser before you transfer funds.
Who you will be dealing with
MrRealEstate focuses on buying and selling property in Dubai and across the UAE, and works with local and international buyers, including clients who buy property in Dubai from India without visiting first.
Why Indian buyers look at Dubai
Dubai is a short flight from major Indian cities, many families already have relatives or business ties there, and the market is open to foreign owners in freehold zones. Buyers use it as a second home, a base for a future move or a rental investment.
The hard part is not the property. It is doing the purchase from another country: finding a trustworthy seller, sending money correctly and signing the right documents without being in the room. That is the part we manage with you.

What the service covers
One point of contact from the first call to the title deed, with every step explained before you commit money.
We match your budget and goals to freehold areas and developers, so you compare real options instead of browsing hundreds of listings.
Reserve a unit by power of attorney or online signing, with the documents checked before you sign anything.
Money goes to a regulated escrow account for off-plan purchases, or through a trustee for resale, never to a personal account.
We guide you through registration with the Dubai Land Department so ownership is recorded in your name.
Non-residents can apply for a UAE mortgage. We explain the typical down payment and documents before you apply.
If you plan to let the property, we can discuss tenant search, Ejari and day-to-day management after handover.
Buying remotely
Most of the purchase happens by video call, email and signed documents. There are two common ways to do it.
Best for: new developer projects, where online reservation is common.
Best for: resale purchases, where the transfer is signed in person at a DLD trustee office.

Payment route
The right route depends on where your money sits and whether you buy ready or off-plan.
| Route | How it works | Best for | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bank transfer under LRS | An Indian resident sends funds abroad through an authorised bank under the RBI's Liberalised Remittance Scheme, which has an annual limit per person. | Buyers living in India with savings in Indian banks | Check the current limit, the purpose declaration and any tax collected at source with your bank and tax adviser |
| Transfer from an overseas or NRI account | NRIs can pay from an account abroad or from eligible NRE or NRO accounts through the bank. | NRIs earning outside India | Rules differ by account type, so confirm which account you can use for a property purchase |
| Escrow account (off-plan) | You pay instalments into the developer's regulated escrow account named in the sales agreement. | Off-plan and payment-plan purchases | Pay only to the account in the contract and keep every transfer receipt |
| Trustee transfer (resale) | The deposit and balance are paid against the sale agreement, and ownership is transferred at a DLD trustee office. | Ready and resale property | The transfer date is set once funds and documents are ready |
| UAE mortgage | A UAE bank lends part of the price. You still send the down payment and fees from your own funds. | Buyers who want to spread the cost | Non-residents usually get a lower loan-to-value limit, see our guide to mortgages for non-residents |
Check India-side rules first. LRS limits, tax collected at source (TCS), reporting and rules for NRI accounts can change. Confirm them with your own tax adviser or bank before you transfer money. We do not give tax advice for India.
Paperwork
The list varies with the developer and the deal, but most buyers prepare the following.
Tip for off-plan buyers. Keep the signed sales agreement, the escrow account details and the Oqood registration together. They are your proof of purchase until the title deed is issued. Read how Oqood registration works.
Costs
Plan for fees on top of the price. These are the main items most buyers meet.
Amounts and rules are set by the authorities and your banks and can change. See the full breakdown in our guide to the cost of buying property in Dubai.
The process
The order below is the same for most Indian buyers, with small changes between resale and off-plan.
Tell us your budget, purpose and timeline. We also ask where the funds will come from, so the payment route is clear from day one.
You receive a short list of properties in freehold areas open to foreigners, with prices and costs side by side.
We walk through the unit or the show apartment by video and share floor plans, the payment plan and service charge details.
You reserve with online signing or through a POA, and we check the documents before you pay the booking amount.
You pay the deposit and instalments to the escrow or trustee account named in the contract, and we confirm each receipt.
The sale is registered with the Dubai Land Department. Off-plan contracts are registered through Oqood, and resale transfers at a trustee office.
Ready or off-plan
Both can be bought from India. They differ in how you pay and how long you wait.
Best for: buyers who want fast ownership or an existing tenant. Compare in off-plan vs ready property.
Best for: buyers who can wait and prefer staged payments. Browse current projects.

Off-plan instalments are paid into the developer's regulated escrow account, and the contract is registered with the Dubai Land Department through Oqood. Pay only to the account named in your contract and keep every receipt.
