Dubai Dh2.1 Trillion Projects: Dh1.1 Trillion for Real Estate and 350,000 Homes

Published: 13 October 2026

The Dubai Dh2.1 trillion projects pipeline is now official. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said on Tuesday that active projects in the emirate are worth Dh2.1 trillion, according to The National. Of that, Dh1.1 trillion is allocated to real estate development through 2030, with about 350,000 residential units planned.

What Sheikh Mohammed announced at the forum

He spoke at the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum at Dubai World Trade Centre, which brought together 1,000 government and private sector leaders. Sheikh Mohammed said the emirate is “building a city within a city” and that more projects will be announced in the next phase.

Gulf News reports that the figures came from the Dubai Media Office, and that the Ruler wrote on X: “We will not stop.” The National quotes him calling this “the ideal time to invest in Dubai and its infrastructure.”

Dubai Dh2.1 trillion projects: where the money goes

The portfolio covers housing, transport, aviation and infrastructure. The lines named in the reports are:

  • Real estate: Dh1.1 trillion through 2030, with about 350,000 homes.
  • Al Maktoum International Airport: Dh128 billion, for an airport designed to handle up to 260 million passengers a year.
  • Airline fleets: Dh328 billion for Emirates and flydubai, plus Dh18.7 billion for a new Emirates engineering and maintenance complex.
  • DIFC Phase 2: Dh100 billion.
  • Roads and Metro: Dh100 billion for road upgrades and the Dubai Metro Blue and Gold lines.
  • Power and water grids: Dh151 billion.
  • Sewerage tunnels: Dh80 billion for the Dubai Strategic Sewerage Tunnels system.

Khaleej Times and Gulf News list smaller items too, among them Dh30 billion for the Tasreef rainwater drainage project and Dh10 billion to expand the Dubai Exhibition Centre.

The 350,000-home figure

Real estate is the largest single line in the Dubai Dh2.1 trillion projects portfolio. The National puts the housing target at about 350,000 residential units, while Gulf News and Khaleej Times report the same Dh1.1 trillion real estate allocation through 2030. The reports we reviewed do not split the units by project, area or developer, and they give no handover dates, so treat the numbers as planning figures.
